Pep Admetlla brings the project ‘Between Body and Enigma’ to the Venice Architecture Biennale

Archit. & design.  Venice, 09/06/2016

Sculptor Pep Admetlla (Girona, 1962) is to present the project ‘Between Body and Enigma: Architecture of the Senses’ at the Venice Architecture Biennale as part of the exhibition Time Space Existence, within the Eventi Collaterali. In collaboration with the Codiestudi architects’ studio, Admetlla has designed an imaginary bridge in Girona, a large iron structure with steps, a viewpoint and a lift that is organically integrated into the city.

‘Between Body and Enigma: Architecture of the Senses’ is a work in which sculpture, architecture, industrial design, urban planning and utopian thinking coexist. The project is a massive machine that raises an imaginary bridge in Girona, between the archaeological walkway and the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, developing between these two spaces a levitating iron structure.

The exhibition Time Space Existence, presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale within the Eventi Collaterali, brings together architects from the six continents to show the different views they have of architecture today. It presents architects with very diverse cultural backgrounds and at different stages of their career to show what they have in common: their dedication to architecture in the broadest sense of their profession, understanding it through the concepts of time, space and existence.

‘Between Body and Enigma: Architecture of the Senses’ can be seen in the Palazzo Bembo, as part of the exhibition Time Space Existence
