Javier Cercas and Peter Bush discuss Catalan and Spanish fiction in translation

Blackwells Oxford host an evening's discussion on Spanish and Catalan fiction in translation with author Javier Cercas and Peter Bush, translator of authors like Joan Sales and Josep Pla, on Wednesday 10 June.  




Javier Cercas is a writer and Professor of Spanish literature at the University of Girona. His novels include 'Soldiers of Salamis' and  Outlaws, published in English translation last year.

Peter Bush translates Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese literature into English. His latest translation is of Uncertain Glory by Joan Sales (MacLehose Press). He will also be talking about Josep Pla's The Gray Notebook (NYRB) and Life Embitters (Archipelago Books). Peter Bush has recently been awarded the Ramon Llull International Prize.

Chaired by Daniela Omlor, specialist in contemporary Spanish fiction at Lincoln College.
