Between the Seas presents Dreams of the Mediterranean, a multi disciplinary show combining sand art, live music, puppetry and speed painting by the illustrator, Borja González, and Hearts Beating Like Drums, a play built around women and war, written by Àngels Aymar and translated by Marion Peter Holt.

Ferran Adrià: Notes on Creativity” is the first major museum exhibition to focus on the visualization and drawing practices of this Spanish master chef, whom Gourmet dubbed “the Salvador Dalì of the kitchen.” The exhibition emphasizes the role of drawing in Adrià’s quest to understand creativity.

Sound Portrait VII is a solo piece for bass-clarinet specially tailored and dedicated to the bass-clarinetist Emily Beisel. Following the path of the 6 preceding Sound Portraits, this work delves in the possibilities to improve the communication between composer, interpreter and audience by means of co-creation, multi-reality, and other additional supports.

Pierre Daura (1896–1976) was a highly prolific and versatile Catalan-American artist who co-founded the important abstract artists’ group Cercle et Carré (Circle and Square) in Paris in 1929. In 1930, he moved to Saint Cirq-Lapopie, France, with his wife, Louise Heron Blair of Richmond, Virginia. In 1937, Daura fought for the Spanish Republican Army in the Spanish Civil War. He and his family moved to Virginia in 1939, where he passed away in 1976.
