Over 70 participants will be at the Catalan Ministry of Culture stand at Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the most important meeting place in its field.

Bologna Book Fair takes place between 6 – 9 March 2023. The Catalan stand is part of the action plan implemented by the Ministry of Culture to impulse Catalan Literature and the International projection of the publishing sector.

The book chosen for this session is "Napalm dans le cœur", by Pol Guasch. The discussion will be held in French and moderated by Colin Zouvi, PhD student at the Université de Montréal.

Cinema.  22/02/2023

The Cicle Gaudí de cinema becomes international with film screenings in Mexico.

The Catalan Film Academy, the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Mexico, and The Institut Ramon Llull will bring Catalan cinema all year round to the Tonalá cinema in the Mexican capital from February 24th. Sis dies corrents, Chavalas, La Vampira de Barcelona, Els dies que vindran and Toscana are the first featuring films of the program.

The third edition of the International Symposium on Noucentisme will be dedicated to the study of the different aspects of visual arts, literature, and politics in Catalan Noucentisme in relation to Italian Novecento

Special feature on Catalan literature in Hyperion: on the Future of Aesthetics

The magazine Hyperion: on the Future of Aesthetics is concerned with aesthetics, with the value of art and the ways in which it can be transformed and renewed, as well as applied criticism — philosophically-oriented essays that are evaluative of specific artists and specific works of art in every genre (from poetry to visual art to cinema et cetera). Hyperion is published by Contra Mundum Press whose primary aim is to publish translations of writers who in their use of form and style deviate significantly from more programmatic and spurious forms of experimentation. Such writing attests to the volatile nature of modernism.

Catalan cinema makes a strong comeback to Berlinale

After the success of Catalan cinema in the 2022 edition, where Alcarràs (Vilaüt, Avalon, Elastica, Kino Produzioni) by Carla Simón won the Golden Bear, this year five Catalan productions have been selected for the festival.
