To coincide with the Olympics and London 2012 Festival, 17 companies from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands will be appearing at the leading performing arts festivals in the UK this summer. After the success of La Fura dels Baus presenting Prometheus with Graeae at the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival together with Itinerānia and Circ Pānic, the talent of Catalan companies will be showcased at seven other exceptional festivals and events with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.

IF: Milton Keynes International Festival 2012 presents a series of events, artists and productions - including the UK Premiere of the Enfila’t production Plecs - that celebrates work from Catalonia and the Balaeric Islands in association with the Institut Ramon Llull. Events are featured across the 10 days of Festival.

Exhibition: ‘THE TRANSFORMATION OF AN OLYMPIC CITY – BARCELONA ‘92’

In preparation of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Roca London Gallery is hosting a retrospective celebrating 20 years since the competition took place in the dynamic city of Barcelona. The exhibition provides an interesting insight into how the urban landscape and fabric of a city can be transformed before, during and in the years that follow such a momentous event. Event organised in collaboration with the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the United Kingdom, Ajuntament de Barcelona, Fundació Olímpica Barcelona and Institut Ramon Llull.

Stockton, August 1st-5th

STOCKTON INTERNATIONAL RIVERSIDE FESTIVAL

SIRF presents five amazing days in August with giant puppets as tall as buildings, extraordinary spectacles of light and fire on the river, circus thrills and so much more.

Prometheus Awakes -a giant created by La Fura dels Baus and Graeae- walking amongst men in Stockton High Street as the Greek myth of Prometheus is retold for the sensational SIRF opening show.

The streets of Stockton will come alive with three amazing Catalan companies and performers from all over the world who will transform the town into a theatrical feast of fun and wonder. Amazing experiences delivered on your doorstep from 1 to 5 August 2012.
