Catalan Sounds on Tour at Austin's South by Southwest Festival and Canadian Music Week
The Institut Ramon Llull presents Catalan Sounds on Tour, an initiative that will bring some of Catalonia's hottest indie-pop groups to Great Britain and North America. This is a great opportunity, as these festivals attract thousands of music professionals from around the world who are looking for new talent with which to program their own festivals. Catalan literature, guest of honor at Salon du Livre de Québec
The present edition of the Salon du Livre de Québec offers the opportunity to take a closer look at Catalan literature, which will be the guest of honor. In the last three years over 60 titles have been translated into French, and the Catalan delegation arrives in Québec looking forward to strengthening links and searching out new publishing opportunities. There have already been several exchanges between Québec and Catalan culture in recent years: Quebec's festivals and publishers have worked together frequently with our authors, and Catalan courses taught at the University of Montréal have enjoyed great popularity since their introduction in 2007.
