Educational innovation 2010

Subsidies to finance pilot projects whose purpose is to develop innovative proposals for teaching Catalan as a foreign language and Catalan culture, especially to students outside the Catalan-speaking zone.

Teaching staff which offers Catalan studies to universities outside the Catalan-speaking zone in a regulated way.

Promotion of Catalan literature 2010

Events organized outside of Catalan-speaking areas to introduce Catalan literature abroad and present new translations of Catalan literary and scholarly works originally written in Catalan.
Monographic pieces on Catalan literary and scholarly works targeted to literary or cultural journals circulated outside of Catalan-speaking areas.

Translation of works in Catalan 2010

Grants to publishers for the translation into other languages of Catalan literary works (poetry, drama and fiction) and scholarly works in the fields of the Humanities and Science, during the grant-award year.

Translator residency programme 2010 (in catalan)

Description: Financial support for translators who are working to translate works of Catalan literature to undertake stays in Barcelona for two to six weeks,. The aim of each stay is to work on the translation in progress.

Translators who are translating a work of Catalan literature, reside abroad and have a legal contract to translate the work in question.

Travel assistance for artists 2010

Grants for travel expenses to carry out performances of music, theatre, circus, dance, visual arts and cinema during the year the award refers to that favour and promote the presence abroad of Catalan culture. Artists residing in Catalonia or the Balearic Islands, or artists residing outside Catalonia and the Balearic Islands who retain Catalan or Balearic regional citizenship and legal incorporated groups, companies, entities or business with their registered office in Catalonia or the Balearic Islands, and groups of artists without legal personality for joint projects, provided that all their members fulfil the conditions established.

Travel assistance for authors 2010 (in catalan)

Grants to authors writing in Catalan to take part in cultural activities outside the linguistic domain during the year to which the grant applies, and which enhance and stimulate the presence of Catalan literature and culture abroad, through the issue of tickets, administered and purchased by the Institut Ramon Llull.

Catalan writers of, poetry, drama and fiction, (members of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana and/or writers who have at least one work published originally in Catalan).

Certificates of knowledge of Catalan 2010 (in catalan)

Certification of knowledge of the Catalan language outside the linguistic domain, as well as within the territory of Catalonia for non-residents

 

21st Gironella-Masdenverge Language and Culture Days 2009 (in catalan) The International Catalan Language and Culture Days are designed so that students of Catalan from all over the world can improve their knowledge of the Catalan language and participate in a wide array of activities, lectures and visits to round off the cultural offering. Any non-Catalan-speaking person who has completed a minimum of 60 hours of courses in the Catalan language in study centres located outside the Catalan-speaking zone and who has a basic knowledge and mastery of spoken Catalan.

7th University Campus 2009 (in catalan)

The “Campus Universitari de la Llengua Catalana”, the outcome of collaboration between the Government of Andorra and the Institut Ramon Llull, offers students the opportunity to take part in language courses and a wide variety of cultural and leisure activities, enabling them to become part for a time of the society and natural setting of Mallorca, Andorra or Barcelona.

Any university student whose native tongue is not Catalan and who is interested in the Catalan language and the culture associated with it.

24th International Conference for Professors of Catalan The main objective of the conference is to provide a meeting point between all teachers of Catalan language, literature and culture at foreign universities, to contribute to their professional training and to promote discussion regarding issues related to their teaching. Teachers that give formal Catalan courses at foreign universities.

Pedagogic courses for Catalan as a foreign language

The objective of the course is to contribute to the training of future professors to teach Catalan language at foreign universities. Bachelor’s and graduate degree holders, preferably in Catalan philology, and students in their final year of undergraduate studies interested in teaching Catalan courses at foreign universities.

Grants for students 2010

Grants for students from outside the linguistic domain who wish to attend courses in Catalan, particularly at the beginners’, elementary and intermediate levels, and associated themes, which take place within the linguistic domain.

Grants for those who reside outside the linguistic domain and who wish to attend advanced courses on the Catalan language and related themes, or courses in teaching Catalan as a foreign language.
