
From 4th February the exhibition The Unavowable Community will be on display in Girona, bringing together the projects Technologies To The People by Daniel G. Andújar, Sitesize by Joan Vila-Puig and Elvira Pujol, and Archivo F.X. by Pedro G. Romero.
During February, March, April and May, the Catalan Center in New York, with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, is organizing a series of activities to promote various aspects of Catalan culture and those people involved in its creation.
Lumière Lyon 2 University is organizing a seminar to promote Catalan language and culture, the SECULCAT, within the framework of the Catalan classes that are given at this centre, run by the Institut Ramon Llull.
The Catalan writer Najat El Hachmi and the French poet and novelist Hédi Kaddour to appear at the Instituto Cervantes in Paris to speak about identity, migration and literature.
The Bòlit Centre for Contemporary Art in Girona and the University of Girona have organized a series of dialogues around The Unavowable Community exhibition on 12th and 26th March. The exhibition will be on display until 11th April at the galleries Bòlit-LaRambla and Bòlit-SantNicolau, as well as other cultural spaces in the city.
The 14th edition of the Spanish Cinema Biennale is being held in Annecy from 13th to 23rd March. It is an important event for the film sector in France, and Catalan cinema will be heavily represented. Catalan Films & Television and the Institut Ramon Llull are collaborating with the festival.
The Catalan language will be present at the Lille language fair, which will take place on 19th and 20th March with over a hundred exhibitors. The Institut Ramon Llull will have a stand at the event with information about Catalan language and culture and the universities where Catalan can be learnt: The Charles de Gaulle University – Lille 3 and the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale.
The Jofre Theatre in El Ferrol, Galicia, will host a performance of El llac de les mosques (Fly Lake) by Sol Picó on Sunday, 21st March at 8.30 pm. with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.
The Salon du Livre in Paris will be celebrating its 30th anniversary from 26th to 31st March. The Institut Ramon Llull will be attending with its own stand, from which it will promote authors writing in Catalan.
From 19th to 21st July, Barcelona sees another edition of “Come & See. Catalan Theatre”, with the aim of showcasing Catalan creativity to the world. This year’s festival widens the selection of pieces on offer to include all the performing arts, not only dance and theatre. For this reason it will be called the Catalan International Performing Arts Market.
