Sous le signe d’Eros: Mariaelena Roqué exhibits costumes designed for the Carles Santos Company in Lyon

The Textile Museum in Lyon and “Les Nuits de Fourvière” festival have organized a show featuring 150 costumes designed by Mariaelena Roqué for the company of composer and musician Carles Santos. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday, 1st April at 6.30 p.m. and can be visited until 5th September 2010.

Garcia Sevilla at IMMA

From June 10 through September 5, Dublin’s Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) presents an exhibit of the works of painter Fernando Garcia Sevilla. 42 works reflecting the eclectic style of the Mallorcan artist will be displayed.

The contemporary art exhibition Spain, The Sombre Years: 1945-1960 at the Gajac Museum

On 11th June, the Gajac Museum in Villeneuve-sur-Lot sees the opening of the exhibition Spain, The Sombre Years: 1945-1960, which displays the artistic currents that came out of Spain in the post-Civil War period. The exhibition, which includes work by artists such as Joan Brossa, Joan Ponç, Arnau Puig, Modest Cuixart, Joan Josep Tharrats and Antoni Tàpies, has received the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.

Emili Rosales, invited to the Melbourne Writers Festival

The Catalan writer Emili Rosales, who was awarded the 2004 Sant Jordi Prize for his novel La ciutat invisible (The Invisible City), will give a talk on Saturday, 29th August about his experiences as a writer, translator and editor. The talk will take place at the Center for Adult Education as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival in conjunction with the Institut Ramon Llull.

PRELUDE, a festival exploring the forefront of contemporary NYC theater and performance, will take place from September 29 through October 1 at the Martin E. Segal Theater Center, Graduate Center-CUNY, New York. SPOTLIGHT: CATALONIA will showcase the work of four contemporary Catalan playwrights: Àngels Aymar, Marta Buchaca, Sergi Belbel and Esteve Soler.
